Fearless. Balanced. Accurate.

Who We Are

Africa Thinker is an independent analytical newspaper founded in 2023 by a consortium of distinguished Liberian journalists, writers, lawyers, editors, researchers, and public policy professionals united by a common conviction: journalism must always serve the public interest.

Established to strengthen democratic governance through credible, evidence-based reporting, Africa Thinker is dedicated to informing citizens, promoting accountability, and enriching public discourse. Its founders — Sherman C. Seequeh, J. Lyndon Ponnie, Seyon Kieh, Alex Togba, J. Dominic Farley, Elwood Dennis, together with other accomplished professionals — bring decades of collective experience in journalism, law, governance, public policy, and communications.

Although the newspaper is a new institution, it is built upon a wealth of professional experience and an unwavering commitment to editorial independence, ethical journalism, and national development.

Our Mission

To produce fearless, balanced, and accurate journalism that informs citizens, strengthens democratic governance, promotes transparency and accountability, protects human rights, and contributes to sustainable development in Liberia and across Africa.

Our Vision

To become one of Africa's most respected independent newspapers, recognised for investigative reporting, authoritative analysis, editorial excellence, and uncompromising professional integrity.

What We Believe

Africa Thinker believes journalism is more than reporting daily events. It is a public trust. Every story should explain, educate, investigate, and inspire informed public discussion.

Our Editorial Philosophy

Africa Thinker practices public-interest journalism grounded in three enduring principles: fearless reporting, balanced journalism, and accurate information. We pursue difficult stories without intimidation or favour, present issues fairly and in context, and treat accuracy as the foundation of public trust.

Our commitment extends beyond exposing problems. We seek to illuminate solutions, celebrate innovation, encourage responsible leadership, and foster constructive national dialogue that advances democracy and development.

Our Coverage

Governance, politics, elections, investigations, business, agriculture, natural resources, climate, human rights, health, education, technology, regional affairs, editorials and opinion.

Why Africa Thinker?

In an era of misinformation and public distrust, Africa Thinker places facts above speculation, evidence above rhetoric, and the public interest above every other consideration.

Our Commitment

We will remain independent in our editorial decisions, transparent in our corrections, accountable to our readers, and unwavering in our pursuit of truth.
